Garden Gate Sale at the Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens!

September 7, 2015

On Friday I went to Morningside to the Garden Gate Sale at the Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens and was pleasantly surprised to find loads of delicious looking local and seasonal produce! You can find more info about the Garden and the Garden Gate sale in the flyer at the end of this post.

I could not resist taking loads of photos of the garden and the fruit and vegetables that I purchased. Rachel Helms the Project Co-ordinator of the Gardens gave me a tour around, and showed me the huge variety of plants they are growing including Kohlrabi, multiple types of kale, carrots, beets, onions, garlic, artichoke, and more. They have planted various kinds of flowers, including one of my favourites Cosmos, to encourage pollinators. A wonderful project and I hope to go back again soon.

Super excited to have Steph the Chef cooking up some of these locally grown foods I purchased from the Royal Ed Garden at the Foodwise Atlas Launch and Cooking Demo this Thursday!

Learn more about the Royal Edinburgh Community Gardens below and we look forward to seeing some of you on Thursday. Enjoy the sunshine :-)
